Pet Craft Ideas

Pet Mobile

Cats, dogs and horses accumulated together to make a stylish and interesting pet mobile.

Materials:

• Pipe cleaners
• Colored foam sheets
• Crayons or markers
• Fishing wire
• Scissors

Instructions:

• Choose drawings of dogs, cats, fish and horses, and print them out.
• Cut out the printed characters.
• Place the characters on the colored rubber foam and draw around the outline.
• Cut out the characters.
• Punch a whole at the top end of each character.
• Decorate the characters with crayons or markers.
• Thread the fishing wire through each character.
• Twist two or three pipe cleaners together.
• Tie the wire to the pipe cleaners so that each character is at a different height.

Horse Bookmark

Horsey Horsey don't you stop. Just let your heels go clippety clop...."Stop!! I haven't finished reading!"

Materials:

• White cardboard
• A black pen
• Markers
• Wide cellotape
• Scissors

Instructions:

• Print out a picture of a small horse from the the collection of coloring pages.
• Draw the outline with a black pen on the cardboard, and add a lengthwise rectangle around it.(Make sure that the bookmark is the same width as the cellotape or less.)
• Cut out the outline.
• Decorate the bookmark with crayons or markers.
• Cover one side of the bookmark with cellotape and then the other.
• Cut off the excess cellotape.

Glowing Fish

My fish is a glowing fish. No-one has a fish like this but me. I don't turn it on by myself (I'm not allowed), but when my parents light the candle, it lights up the whole room.

Materials:

• Self hardening clay
• A moving eye or a colorful stone
• A wooden skewer
• A piece of paper
• A pencil
• Scissors
• A candle
• Poster paint
• A paint brush

Instructions:

• Draw a fish on a piece of paper or print one.
• Cut out the fish.
• Roll out a piece of clay to the height of the candle.
• Place the cut out fish onto the rolled out clay.
• Cut out the fish with a skewer.
• With the help of a skewer, draw a circle in the center of the fish, according to the circumference of the candle and make a hole.
• Place the candle into the hole.
• Push in the eye or colored stone.
• Using the skewer draw scales.
• Wait until the clay dries, and then paint it.

It's preferable to use clay that dries naturally and doesn't require baking in the oven.

Cat Head

I have a spoilt cat. Every day he gets more and more spoilt, and so do I....

Materials:

• Cardboard
• Plastic glue
• Scissors
• A pencil
• Crayons or markers

Instructions:

• Draw a circle on the cardboard with a circumference of about 20 centimeters.
• Cut out the circle.
• Cut out the cat's parts of face (eyes, ear, nose), and stick on to the circle.
• Cut out narrow pieces of cardboard to make the cat's whiskers.
• Color the cat with crayons or markers.
