Activities for Slumber Parties

Activities for slumber parties that little girls love especially

Slumber parties are usually parties with a limited number of participants, which is what makes the party so intimate and special.

The activities for slumber parties that you will find here are meant for girls; and what do girls like? Usually they will be extremely happy with parties that include: fairies, princesses or Barbies.

So if that is what they want that is what they shall get!

In order to add substance and structure to the slumber party, it's a good idea to invent a story outline and to integrate suitable activities into it.

I chose the story of Cinderella as an outline story for the slumber party.

The Opening of the Party

Gather the girls around you and tell them the following story:

A few days ago I received a letter in the mail. The envelope was so special and colorful it made me curious to see what was inside.

I opened up the envelope. I took out the letter and do you know what I found inside? A letter from Cinderella!

Yes, that's right, Cinderella from the fairytales sent me this letter.

Would you like to know what she wrote? Well this is what was written in the letter.

Dear mommy,

It has come to my attention that your little daughter will be celebrating her fifth birthday in a few days, and that you are planning to have a slumber party for her.

I know how hard it is to plan for such an important event and to find the right activities for slumber parties.

Therefore I decided to come to your assistance in planning the party, and suggest some fun activities for slumber parties.

If the girls carry out the following tasks your daughter will have an amazing slumber party.

So what are you waiting for? To the tasks...

Signed,
Cinderella

The Tasks

A Cinderella Keepsake - a coloring page

I brought each one of you a picture of me as a keepsake; but by the time I got here the colors disappeared.

Help me return the colors back to the pictures, and then you may have it as a keepsake.

A gift in a pile of clothes

You know how hard I had to work in my step-mother's house; Fortunately, you don't have to work so hard; but you can't receive gifts without putting in some effort can you?

So, in order to find your second gift you have to help mom fold the laundry. Your gift is hiding amongst the laundry. (colored stickers - according to the number of girls)

A designer bottle

When I moved in to the palace with the prince, I saw breathtakingly beautiful ornaments, but one especially stuck in my mind. It was simpler than the others, not so expensive, but very, very special.

It is this one that I want to give to you as a birthday present. Do you want to know what this ornament is? Well, before I reveal what it is, it's important for you to know that you have to prepare it yourself.

Are you ready? Then let's go to the work table.

The girls prepare a colorful sand bottle.

Materials

  • A small transparent plastic bottle
  • Different colored sand
  • A small amount of clay

Preparation Instructions

  • Fill the bottle with layers of different colored sand.
  • Seal the bottle opening with clay.
  • Allow the clay to dry.

Where is Cinderella hiding?

Dear girls, for years I learned how to hide from my step-mother and step-sisters. I discovered that it can be quite an interesting game. Are you ready to play it with me? I am hiding here in the living room, and you have to discover where.

In order to find me use the map that I have left for you. ( a drawing of the living room with an X marking the hiding place)

Mom, help the girls find my hiding place with the "hot/cold" game. When the girls are in the right direction, encourage them with the word "hot" when they are moving away from the hiding place hint with the word "cold".

The girls find the book of "Cinderella" (according to the number of girls) - the fourth gift.

You are princesses too...

And now, after all your hard work, it is time for you too to be princesses. Get dressed up and made up like princesses, and receive your fifth and final gift.

The girls wear dresses, do their hair and receive a hair slide as a gift.

The End of the Party

To end the activities, gather the girls around you and read them the story of Cinderella.

Note:

When you choose activities for slumber parties for your daughter, it's a good idea to match the story outline, the activities and the gifts to your daughter's preferences.

It's recommended that the number of girls be limited to around three or four, so that the party will be intimate and enjoyable.

It's important that the number of the gifts be suitable for the age of the birthday.

You can find an assortment of suitable gifts at reasonable prices.
