Beach Party Games
A kids' beach party can be a real celebration; sun, sand, sea, beach party games, a bathing suit and a great party mood; there's no limit to the amount of fun your child will have.
It's a good idea for the beach party games to be based on utilizing natural resources (sand, shells, sea water), otherwise it wouldn't be a beach party; and that would be a shame.
In addition, use of other things such as buckets, balloons, balls, etc. will enrich the games and add to the fun.
Shell collecting
- The children stand in a circle on the sand. The circle is the start point.
- Draw a circle around each child. The circle is the base of the child inside it.
- Place a large amount of shells in the center of the main circle (the starting point).
- At the sound of the entertainers whistle, each child leaves his base, runs to the center of the main circle, takes one shell and puts it in his base circle. Once the shell is in the base he may run and collect an additional shell.
- However, once the base is "abandoned" the others may take shells from it instead of from the center of the circle.
- The game ends when there are no shells left in the center of the main circle.
- The winner of the game is the one who has the most shells.
Disappearing houses
- Arrange hoops in a large circle (these are the bases) according to the number of children; ropes or ribbons may be used instead.
- Each child stands inside the hoop.
- The entertainer gives the go-ahead to get into couples, and every two children have to stand in one hoop.
- The entertainer collects all of the abandoned hoops, and gives the go-ahead to get into groups of three.
- Again the entertainer collects the abandoned hoops, and gives the go-ahead to get into groups of four.
- And so the game continues in this way until the hoop cannot contain the amount of kids; and one (or more) falls out of the hoop.
- The group of children who managed to stand inside the hoop without anyone falling out is the winning group.
Balloon transfer
- Divide the kids into two equal groups.
- Draw a game court on the sand and divide it into two equal parts (one for group A and one for group B).
- Take two different colored balloons and fill them with water.
- Each child from group A receives one color, and each child from group B receives the other.
- Each group has to transfer their balloons to the opposite side of the court, and at the same time stop the other team from reaching the edge of the court.
- The first group to transfer all of their balloons to the edge of the opposite side of the court wins the game.
Catch me
- The children stand in shallow water (or on the sand) in two rows opposite each other.
- One child goes to the opposing team in which its members stand with their hands stretched out in front of them.
- He then shouts out "catch me" while at the same time touching the stretched out hands of the children in the opposing team.
- The last child that it touched has to chase and catch him.
- If the pursuer manages to catch him before he is able to get to the safety of his team, the child who is caught becomes the hostage of the child who caught him and must stand behind him in the row.
- If the pursuer does not manage to catch him then he becomes the hostage of the child that he was pursuing and must stand behind him in the row.
- If a child who is caught has hostages, they are released upon his capture and are exchanged instead of him becoming a hostage in the opposing team.
