Children's Indoor Party Games
In order to have a party at home you will need Children's indoor party games. Not every game is suitable.
The available space is not always sufficient, and the kids can't run around and go wild inside the house.
When you have a yard there is no problem at all, but what do you do when you don't have a yard, and you cannot have a party outdoors?
At this stage you start wondering: "should I have a party indoors? "How many children should I invite?" "How should I entertain them?" etc...
The main problem with children's indoor party is choosing the right games. Once you have decided which children's indoor party games you prefer, it will be easier for you to answer the remaining questions.
Truth or Dare
- Sit all the kids on the floor in a circle
- Take an empty plastic bottle
- One of the children has to walk to the centre of the circle and spin the bottle on the floor.
- When the bottle stops, it points towards one of the kids.
- The child who spun the bottle, asks the child which the bottle points to "truth or dare?"
- If "truth" is chosen, the child must answer the truth to the question he is asked.
- If "false" is chosen he must perform a task chosen by the spinner of the bottle.
- After the child has completed his task (told a truth or carried out the required task), it is his turn to go to the center of the circle and spin the bottle.
Hangman
- The children sit facing the entertainer.
- The entertainer chooses a subject and writes it on a whiteboard or a large piece of cardboard.
- The entertainer chooses a word and draws short horizontal lines. Each line represents a letter.
- The children now need to guess what word was chosen by the entertainer.
- Each child in turn suggests a letter that might appear in the chosen word. If the letter appears in the word, the entertainer writes it on the line, in the appropriate place.
If the letter does not appear in the word, then the entertainer writes the letter under the lines, so the children will know the letter does not appear in the word, and consequently, won't ask about that letter again. Each time a wrong letter is chosen by the kids an additional line is added to the hangman.
Beginning with the drawing of a vertical line which represents the body of the hangman and followed by 2 lines on the right side (hand and leg) 2 on the left, and a circle at the bottom hence forming the shape of a hanged man.
The drawing of the hangman in stages allows the kids to make 6 mistakes during the guessing of the word.
- If the entertainer finishes drawing the hangman shape before the kids successfully guess the chosen word, he gets 1 point and the kids 0 points.
- If the kids succeed in guessing the word before the entertainer finishes drawing the hangman, they get 1 point and the entertainer gets 0 points.
My secret
- The entertainer chooses one child.
- The child chooses a secret which could be a hobby, a wish, an experience etc.
- The remainder of the kids need to find out the secret by asking questions. The kids have 20 questions they can ask.
- The child can answer only "yes" or "no" to the questions.
Broken telephone
- Sit the children in a circle.
- The entertainer chooses a word or sentence and whispers it to the first child.
- The child must then pass on the information by whispering what he heard to the next child.
- The word or sentence being whispered may not be repeated even if the child did not hear clearly what was said.
- This continues until the last child is reached.
- The last child has to say the word or sentence that he heard out loud.
- The entertainer reveals the original word.
- In most cases, the original word gets mixed up or warped and the end product is far from the original one.
Pass the parcel
- Wrap up a small gift in lots of layers of newspapers (prior to the party).
- Sit the children in a circle.
- The entertainer of the party plays background music, and the parcel begins to be passed from child to child.
- When the music stops, the child who is holding the parcel must unwrap one layer of newspaper.
- The music is renewed, and the parcel continues to be passed from child to child.
- Each time the music stops, the child who is holding the parcel must unwrap one additional layer of the newspaper.
- The child who removes the last layer of the newspaper receives the gift.
