Christmas Activities

Just think about it; Christmas is approaching. The kids are on vacation and it's impossible to go on outdoor trips. So how do you pass the time indoors? How do you keep the kids occupied?

With all due respect to the fun of the holiday spirit and the quality family time, you still have to think about activities for kids. Otherwise they will get bored, and the last thing you want to hear all day is "Mom, I'm bored".

This is exactly why I have prepared a list of ideas for Christmas activities for you, not only for the kids but for the other members of the family too.

Christmas Activities

Decorating the Christmas Tree

The most fun thing for kids is to participate in the preparations for the holiday. In which case, needless to say, they would absolutely love to be a part of decorating the Christmas tree.

No matter whether you buy the decorations for the tree or you make them yourselves, spend quality time with your kids decorating the tree.

Baking Cookies

And if we are still in the preparation stage, I guess you have lots of chores to do in the kitchen. Take advantage of this time and occupy your kids with baking. This will enable you not only to get your chores done, but in addition to be sure that your kids are occupied and are enjoying a fun activity, while doing their part in the preparations.

At the end of the work in the kitchen, recruit everyone to help with the cleaning. There's no doubt that once the kids have finished the baking, the kitchen will not look the same :)

Arts and Crafts Activities

Arts and crafts activities are always a good solution to remedy boredom. Kids love to do them and they develop their creativity while they enjoy every minute. Make sure you are equipped with basic arts and crafts supplies and ideas for activities. Set aside time for arts and crafts activities on the themes of the holiday, the winter or the New Year.

Family Board Games

I suggest that for each kids' vacation you buy at least one new game; why? Because it is impossible to play the same games all of the time; it's boring! Even if you forget, the kids will remind you - "This game again?" So again, this time I looked for a family board game, so that the whole family can enjoy playing it this coming holiday. I found an amazing game. The only problem with it is finding a way to stop the kids and the adults playing it.

To Bethlehem, the Christmas Game for the Entire Family is an enjoyable and humorous game. You can't really understand unless you have tried it. Imagine Dad running time after time to flush the toilet, Grandpa singing Christmas carols, Grandma wrapping a towel on her head, and many other antics of this sort and others, which contribute to making this game so different to those that we are familiar with.

Printable Games and Activities

In addition to board games, it's always recommended to have on hand, a few games that can be printed out at the push of a computer button, and played such as: Bingo, word searches, riddles, Trivia, etc.

Another activity that I found for the younger kids at teachers.net is creating a Christmas booklet called "I can see Christmas". Coloring pages with short texts including phrases related to the holiday are assembled on a PDF file. Simply print and enjoy!
