Christmas Tree Crafts

Making Christmas tree crafts at home, at school or anywhere else is a great way to get the kids into the Christmas spirit.

This time, you can create a Christmas tree with the kids that is not only a craft that serves as a decoration, but can be used as a picture frame too!

This tree can accommodate up to 8 photos of the family, so that once you have finished the activity with the kids you can place it along side the family photos that are on the mantle.

Ready? Let's get to work...

A 3D Christmas tree

Materials:

• A printable template of the tree
• A3 construction paper
• Green acrylic paint
• 8 small photos of members of the family
• A yellow or gold pipe cleaner
• Yellow rubber foam or gold star stickers
• Scissors
• Glue
• A paint brush

Print out the template of the tree. Copy it twice onto the construction paper and cut out. Now we have two tree shapes.	On one of the trees, cut out a strip from the top of the tree to the center. On the other tree, cut out a strip from the bottom of the tree to the center. Paint the trees on both sides with green acrylic paint.
Once they are dry, slot the tree with the slit from the bottom to the center onto the tree with the slit from the top. Slide the pieces down gently until both trees are standing steadily on the work surface.	Now cut out the stars from the yellow rubber foam and stick them and the photos around the tree.
Finally, make a star out of the pipe cleaner.	Stick the star onto the top of the tree (in the space between the two parts).
