Family Party Games

At long last, family party games that will get the whole family involved. That's right, everyone; that includes children and adults. No more children playing separately from the adults.

Co-operating with the children for family activity will leave everyone with a memorable experience.

Relay the message

• Choose two couples from the family (each couple consisting of one adult and one child).
• The couple sits opposite each other. The one with his back to the audience, passes the message to the other one who is facing the audience.

• The entertainer announces the theme ( family members, family affairs, etc.), and then begins to present the word.
• The entertainer holds up a sign on which the word is written. Both the person who is relaying the information and the audience can see the word, but the receiver of the message cannot.
• The person who is relaying the message must relate as many words as possible to his partner within a minute.
• Talking and hinting is allowed but mentioning the word itself or variations of the word is not permitted.
• When a minute has passed the turn is passed on to the next couple.
• The couple who has guessed the most words within a minute wins the game.

As these are family party games, it's a good idea to use words that are somehow connected to the family.

Charades

• This game is similar to the previous game, but here you have to relay the information without talking.

  The word or sentence must be relayed by miming.

I know you

• Choose two couples of adults and children.
• Send the children out of the room.

• In turn, ask each adult five questions about his child.

  For example: What is your child's favorite food? Who is your child's best friend? What present would your child most want to receive on his birthday? etc.

• Write the answers to the questions on a piece of paper.
• Bring the kids back into the room and ask them the exact same questions.
• An identical answer awards 1 point to the couple. A different answer however, awards no points.
• The couple who accumulates the most points wins the game.

Sing a song

• For this game prepare in advance a box of cards with the alphabet written on them.
• Divide all the participants into two groups.
• The entertainer draws a card from the box, and the two groups have to start singing a song that begins with the letter that is written on the card.
• The first group to begin singing a song wins a point.
• And so on and so forth....
