Homemade TVby April, V. (Kissimmee, FL) Supplies list:
Remove the top from a cardboard box so you have four sides and one bottom. The bottom becomes the back of the 'TV' so in the center, cut out a hole the size of your flashlight. Slice two long cuts in the now right and left sides of the box so that they are at the same height and length. These slits must be large enough for the paper to slip through. Glue the strips together and invite the kids to create their own 'TV' shows using the crayons, etc. Making each strip of paper a successive scene. When done, glue one end of the story paper to one tissue roll, roll it up and then slip the unglued end through the two side slits. Glue that end to the other tissue roll. Make sure the paper is rolled so that the first scene is showing and the last still on the roll. It helps to have a blank strip of paper at the beginning. Turn on the flashlight, turn off the lights and have the kids man the rolls to tell you their story - they can narrate as you go along. |
