Kindergarten Art Activities

A Picture of Dora on a Transparent Slide

A Picture of Dora on a Transparent Slide Materials:
  • A picture of Dora
  • A transparent slide
  • Permanent markers
  • A4 size construction paper
  • Aluminum foil, slightly larger in size than the construction paper
  • A stapler

Instructions:
  • Print a picture of Dora onto a transparent slide.
  • Color the picture with permanent markers. The coloring must be done on the opposite side to the printed picture, as coloring on the same side may result in smudging of the printed picture.
  • Gently crumple the aluminum foil so that it does not tear.
  • Wrap the construction paper with the aluminum foil.
  • Staple the transparent slide onto the aluminum foil wrapped construction paper.

Candle Vitrage

Candle Vitrage Materials:
  • Black construction paper
  • Colored cellophane
  • Colored stickers
  • scissors
  • Glue

Instructions:
  • Print a picture of a candle onto black construction paper
  • .
  • Cut out the internal parts of the candle.
  • Stick different colored cellophane on the back of the picture covering the cut out areas.
  • Decorate with colored stickers.
  • And there you have a beautiful candle vitrage that may be stuck onto the window.

Placemat

Materials:
  • An A3 size piece of white paper
  • Pictures of fish
  • Crayons
  • Markers
  • Glue
  • Transparent wrapping sheets/laminating sheets

Instructions:
  • Using crayons, color the entire page in shades of the sea.
  • Color the fish pictures with markers.
  • Cut out the fish and stick them onto the colored page.
  • Laminate or cover the page with a transparent wrapping sheet.

A plasticine Strawberry

A plasticine Strawberry Materials:
  • Red, green and black plasticine
  • A toothpick

Instructions:
  • Soften the plasticine by kneading it so that it will be easy to model.

To create the strawberry:

  • Take a lump of red plasticine, soften it, and model it into the shape of a ball.
  • Roll the ball between your hands, while pressing more on the bottom of the ball. In this way, the ball will become wider on the top, and narrower on the bottom.

The leaves:

  • Take green plasticine, and create four extremely thin rolls of equal length, and one shorter.
  • Flatten the long rolls by pressing down with your finger.
  • Attach the leaves to the wide part of the strawberry.
  • The short roll should be attached at the meeting point of the four leaves.

Creating a natural look:

Natural Look

  • With the aid of a toothpick, prod holes around the strawberry.
  • Take a small amount of black plasticine, and create tiny balls.
  • Attach the tiny black balls to the holes that you have created.
