Math Card Games

Let your student play math card games and they will love your math lessons

Math Card Games
Learning math through math card games is a great way to bring the subject to the children and allow them to experience success. Math classes are perceived by children as both difficult and boring lessons. Therefore, we the teachers, have a responsibility to find the right way to make these lessons exciting and fascinating.

And how do we do it?
We make sure to incorporate math games into our lessons! Yes, no matter what kind of games: math card games, board games, competition games and more. For each type of these math games we can create endless possibilities. The students always cooperate with great enthusiasm, and that's exactly what we want to achieve - learning math out of interest. In this way, the students will learn well the material required and we all will enjoy the process of learning.

Integrating games into math lessons is especially important in elementary school classrooms. So when I teach math, I use a lot of games in my classes. One of my students' favorite games is the memory game.

Memory Games
It's always fun to play memory games and it can be used to strengthen any mathematical topic such as: number recognition, addition and subtraction, multiplication and division, fractions, percentages and more. I make a memory game for each subject I teach. The kids play the games, practice math skills and enjoy the classes.

Occasionally, I set new rules to the game to add interest. For example, each participant turns over six cards. If he finds at least two pairs of matched cards, he takes them and puts them in his personal pile. And then he has another turn. However, if he fails, the turn goes to the next player in line and he loses his next turn.

Every time that I set new rules to an existing game, I actually create a new one! So, the students do not grow tired of the games, but come back and play them again and again.
