Windmill
Materials
- A large piece of construction paper 15 x 15 cm.
- A drinking straw / a popsicle stick
- Glue
- A thumb tack
- Scissors
- Markers
- Colored stickers
Preparation Instructions:
- Color and decorate the construction paper on both sides.
- Draw a small circle in the center of the construction paper.
- Draw a line from each corner of the square towards the circle.
- Cut along the four lines up to the circle.
- Fold the right side of each triangle towards the center of the circle, and stick the corner of the triangle to the center of the circle.
- Join the construction paper to the drinking straw / popsicle stick with the thumb tack.
Making an Umbrella
Materials:
- Construction paper
- Scissors
- Markers
- Pipe cleaners
Preparation Instructions:
- Draw a circle with a 15 cm. circumference on the construction paper.
- Fold the construction paper into 8 equal parts. In the open side of the construction paper an arched shape is formed. Using scissors, create a concaved shape.
- Open the construction paper and color.
- Cut along one of the lines (that have been formed through folding) until the edge and stick the right triangle on the left triangle.
- Form a small opening on the top of the umbrella and insert a pipe cleaner.
- Twist the pipe cleaner at the top of the umbrella so that it holds tightly.
- Fold the bottom part of the pipe cleaner to make a handle for the umbrella.
A Winter Scene Picture
Materials:
- Colorful magazines
- Rubber foam sheets
- A plastic bag
- A piece of drawing paper
- Glue
- Scissors
- Markers
Preparation Instructions:
- Draw an umbrella on the colorful magazine and cut out.
- Cut out figures of people from the magazine.
- Stick the umbrella onto the drawing paper and underneath it, stick the figures of people.
- Draw ground, sky and rain on the page.
- Make a puddle out of the plastic bag. Cut 2 pieces out of the plastic bag, crumple them and then stick them onto the ground that has already been drawn.
- Cut clouds out the rubber foam sheet, and stick them onto the sky.
Snowman
Materials:
- A white sock
- Scraps of paper
- 2 rubber bands
- Colored rubber foam sheets
- Pipe cleaners
- The lid of a small jar
- Moving eyes
- Glue
Preparation Instructions:
- Fill the sock with paper, and close the opening of the sock with a rubber band.
- Approximately a third of the way down from the first rubber band wrap another one around the sock to form a head.
- Cut eyes, nose and a mouth out of the rubber foam sheet and stick on.
- stick moving eyes onto the rubber foam eyes.
- Wrap a pipe cleaner around the neck to create a scarf.
- Place the lid on its head to form a hat.
