St Patricks Day Crafts
Begin the celebrations with these St Patricks Day crafts
Join me in preparing some St Patricks Day crafts. We will begin with creating a shamrock on a stick, a beautiful work of art that is easy to make. We will end with creating a magical screen that will transport us from the black and white screen era, right up the color screen era.
Are you ready? Come on, let's get to work...
A Shamrock on a Stick
Materials:
- A shamrock template
- A transparent slide
- Permanent markers
- Wooden skewers
- Aluminum foil
- Transparent adhesive tape
- Scissors
- A stapler
- A Stanley knife
Instructions:
Print out the template on to paper. Copy on to the transparent slide and cut out around the outline.
Color the shamrock.
With the help of the Stanley knife create two holes: one between the eyes, and the other above the mouth. Thread the skewer through the back of the shamrock to the hole that is above the mouth and through to the back via the hole that is between the eyes.
Cut out a piece of aluminum foil slightly bigger than the shamrock. Crumple the foil slightly and then straighten it out carefully, so that the foil does not tear. The crumpling gives the art work a sparkling effect and it looks beautiful.
Place the shamrock on the aluminum foil and staple around the edges.
Cut off the excess aluminum foil.
Wrap the remaining aluminum foil around the wooden skewer. Then wind the transparent adhesive tape around it to ensure that the aluminum foil does not fall apart.
And here you have a beautiful shamrock on a stick

Pot of Gold - Magical Screen
Materials:
Instructions:
Print out the template on to the construction paper and cut out around the outline.
Trace the picture on to the transparent slide using a black permanent marker. Then color the picture that was printed on to the construction paper.
Place the transparent slide on top of the construction paper so that the pictures are lined up exactly one on top of the other, and stick them together with masking tape.
Fold the TV template, and slide the picture into the fold that has been formed. Make sure that the transparent slide is on top and the colored construction paper is on the bottom.
Close the T.V. screen on top of the transparent slide and stick on the back. Now you can see the magic! Through the screen you are able to see the picture in black and white, but when you pull the picture upwards, the color picture is revealed.
