Twilight by Stephanie Meyer

by McKenzie G.
(Fort Collins, CO, USA)

Just one simple word could define the book Twilight (The Twilight Saga, Book 1) by Stephanie Meyer. This word is love. Love is shown throughout the whole book through many different ways. In Twilight, love is not only loving ones kind, but loving another kind. In this case, the other kind is vampires.

Reading this book is like reading a romantic fantasy, but at the same time, falling in love with the characters. Bella and Edward show affection towards one another that leads to different situations. The love between them is what gets them through each situation they are put through.

Edward and Bella meet when Bella moves to Forks to live with her dad. At her new school, Bella sees Edward and gets a feeling that he does not like her. Bella gets caught up with thinking about Edward and the reasons why he may not like her.

Throughout the book, Bella observes that Edward is different from most humans. As she starts to put the pieces together, and the relationship between them grows strong, she later finds out he is a vampire, but yet, they love each other. Bella does not realize what she might be getting herself into, and as much as Edward warns her, she loves him too much to let go.

The story brings you through the relationship they share, and the events that only bring them closer together. Not only do they show the love for each other, but they also show the love for their families. Sometimes love takes risks and this book is a perfect example.

I would recommend this book to anybody who enjoys becoming close with the characters as if they were real people. This book is great for anybody who loves reading romantic stories, weather the reader likes fictional characters or not, this is a book that is sure to keep your adrenaline going.

Twilight is filled with many quotes that send out special messages. One of my personal favorite quotes is when Edward says to Bella, “It was impossible to stop. Impossible. But I did. I must love you.” (460)
