Valentine's Day activities are always fun and enjoyable. Could there be anything more enjoyable than loving to be loved? No, I didn't think there was.

Consequently, I have prepared a selection of ideas for Valentine's Day activities for you that you can do with kids at home or at school.

Writing Activities for Valentine's Day

Looking for Love in a Newspaper - For Little Ones Only...
  • Each child receives a newspaper, and must look for the letters that make up the phrase "Happy Valentine's Day".
  • The child will cut out the letters and stick them, in order, on to a plain piece of paper.
  • Now he/she will look in the newspaper for pictures that express love. Then he/she will cut them out and stick them underneath the title. If there aren't any suitable pictures, ask the child to draw appropriate pictures and to color them in.
  • Finally, the child will decorate the page as he/she wishes.
Tip: Look through the paper thoroughly before giving it to the child in order to ensure that he/she is not exposed to anything inappropriate.

  • Each child receives a newspaper, and must look for the letters that make up the phrase "Happy Valentine's Day".
  • The child will cut out the letters and stick them, in order, on to a plain piece of paper.
  • Underneath the title that has been stuck on to the page the child must write something about Valentine's Day.

    Things that I wish for my family on Valentine's Day...
